COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Physical Education 9 (6118: 1 Credit 1 Semester)
Each student will be given the opportunity to utilize the basic skills of physical education, but emphasis is placed on individual lifetime sports and recreational activities.
This course will meet the Physical Education requirement for graduation.
Health Course Code: (9th) 6509 (10th-12th) 6510 1 Credit 1 Semester
Covering wellness, nutrition, fitness, stress, suicide prevention, human sexuality, drug abuse, infectious diseases, and mental health. Included are guest speakers from community health and care services.
Team Sports Course Code: (10th-12th) 8112 1 Credit 1 Semester
Over the course of the semester students will participate in various individual and team activities in conjunction with introductory weight training activity.
Advanced Fitness Conditioning Course Code: (Sem 1) 6333 (Sem 2) 6334 1 Credit 1 Semester
A higher level weight training and conditioning class. The primary objective of the class will be to become proficient in the core lifts (bench, squat and power clean), as well as auxiliary lifts to supplement sport-specific weight lifting goals.
Life Sports Course Code: 6220 1 Credit 1 Semester
This course is designed to develop a desire to remain active throughout the student’s life. The objectives of the course are to encourage participation, develop a knowledge of rules, strategies, and common courtesies of the sports. This course has limited enrollment.
